Work Experience

For students, work experience gives opportunity to gain new skills, knowledge, come into contact, and build relationships with a wider social group. The aim for some students is for the work to evolve over time into paid employment and for others it is about ongoing skill development. We hugely value local employers who provide these work placements. We have training staff who accompany our students and support them in gaining the skills to work independently in the work place.  Current placement are: The Bay Tree Cafe, Burns the Bread and Southlawns Residential Home.

Occasionally internal work placements within the school are made available to those students who are not yet ready for an external placement.

We are looking to extend work experience placements in the local area.  If you are a business or know someone who might be able to provide an opportunity for a student, please contact the school office by email or telephone 01458 443081
