We currently have the following job vacancies at Avalon School:

POST: 1 x Full time Teacher, permanent contract

Salary Range: MPS 1-6 + 1 SEN point (£2062), NQTs welcome to apply

Core responsibilities: Class teacher, teaching the full breadth of the curriculum.

Avalon School is a special school for 55 pupils aged 11-19 years with a broad range of cognition and learning needs. It is a good school [Ofsted 2018]. Our pupils enjoy learning, enabled by a skilled and dedicated staff team. Avalon is a growing school, with numbers due to increase across the key stages for the next academic year.

The curriculum is designed to enable pupils to take their next steps in to their adulthood with the confidence, skills, independence, determination and knowledge they need. Providing an extensive curriculum that is rich in opportunities to develop skills for life, work and wellbeing is a core value.

Avalon School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.  We expect all staff, external agencies and volunteers to share this commitment.  This appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check.  

POST: MID DAY SUPERVISORS, Fixed Term to 31st August 2020 (in the first instance)

GRADE:             Grade 15 point 3-4: £9.36 per hour, rising to £9.55 per hour

HOURS:             8.75 hours per week for 38 weeks per year 

                              (47.5281 paid weeks per year)

Term time and to be available for INSET days and job related specific training as required.

(Monday to Friday 11.45am – 13.30 pm)

Supporting pupils in the dining room, lunchtime clubs or on the playground; ensuring safety, discipline and well-being and attending to pupils’ personal care needs.

Opportunity for additional supply work supporting pupils in class.
